OPAK COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS

As Opak, we are responding to the Covid-19 with four sets of actions.

1. Workforce Protection

In order to protect or workforce, we follow and implement the updated instructions given by Ministry of Health, Ministry of Industry and Technology, World Health Organization (WHO), Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

• We disinfected all the workplaces, and vehicles.

• We shared the 14 Rule of Ministry of Health with all of our workforce.

• We shared and implementing the practices of 7 Warnings of Ministry of Health with all of our workforce.

     o Taking temperature rule

     o Keeping the track rule

     o Decleration rule

     o Hygiene rule

     o 1,5 meters rule

     o Business continuity rule

     o Information rule

• We are cleaning our frequently used surfaces such as door handles, fixtures, sinks, computer keyboards etc. daily with water and detergent.

• We provide personal protective equipment (PPE) for necessary staff.

• We informed our workforce to see our doctor if they have a fever, cough, shortness of breath.

• We encouraged our workforce to stay at home if they are sick.

• We promote our workforce frequent handwashing including by providing workers, customers, truck drivers, couriers and worksite visitors.

• We discourage workers from using other workers’ phones, desks, offices, other work tool or equipment.

• We do not provide our business with contract or temporary employees.

• We are ventilating our workplace.

• We started giving drive through service by our security to prevent the virus spread and we do not allow anybody to enter the production plant.

• We minimized contact among workers, clients, and customers by replacing face to face meetings with virtual communications and social distancing at all common areas.

• We allowed our workers to rest at home and isolated them from the workplace who are over 65 or have a chronic illness like hypertension, diabetes.

• All external visits, in or out, such as supplier visits, external maintenance, trials and audits are postponed unless mandatory.

• All security staffs are equipped with masks and gloves.

• All courier packages will be delivered to related employee after disinfection in the Security Office. Personal courier packages are not allowed.

• All first interviews will be done via online and only selected candidate can participate a final interview, where a health check report will be needed prior to this interview.

• Prayer room is regulated for at least 1,5 meters of social distance among prayers.

• Meal and tea service hours are extended to reduce density of people in the regarding area.

• Cafeteria is cleaned regularly before and after meal service, including disinfection of all tables.

• Body heat is being checked for each employee and driver prior usage of shuttle by shuttle responsibles.

• Pool cars are disinfected before usage.

• Employees are informed to avoid mass transportation.

• Number of disinfection spots are increased and being refilled in all sites to cover each area of office, production, distribution and social.

• Precaution methods are visually shared in common areas (cafeteria, cloak rooms, WC) to increase awareness.

• Each shift starts with 10 minutes cleaning in operations.

• Hand disinfectants or cologne are delivered to each employees, for self-usage and taking to their homes.

• Disinfectants are delivered to employees to self-clean their desks and equipments.

• All employees are asked to fill a health-declarance form regarding syptoms, abroad visits in the last weeks and having a contact with persons who travelled abroad, with obligation to inform EHS & HR teams in case of any change.

• All team leaders are checking / asking if any employee shows symptoms such as cough, flu, lassitude and directs related employee to a health center by equipping mask and gloves immediately, which process is then followed by HR.

• All absent employees are contacted by HR to understand if there is any health issue. 

2. Supply-Chain Stabilization

• We are engaged in our current suppliers, and managing our orders online.

• In order to manage our inventory better, we invested our warehouse management system and updating it for location optimization.

• We are optimizing our production capacity according to the projected production plans.

• In order protect the critical SKU levels, we may recruit new employees.

• We are optimizing our routes by working our own vehicle and driver.

3. Customer Engagement

• We are having a two way communication with our clients and evaluating scenario-based risk.

• Within the scope of spread prevention interventions, we are communicating only virtually and canceled all the business trips.

4. Financial Stress Testing

• Withing the frame of crisis management and scenario planning practices, we are checking the financial situation and economic outlook.

• Financial stress test, especially working capital requirements in different scenarios, we are working on these issues.

• We aligned all the leaders on different scenarios.
